Everything you need to know about CO₂ mosquito trapping, our services, pricing, delivery, and policies, all in one place.
GreenGuard USA is an Austin-based mosquito control company founded in 2025. We specialize in CO₂-powered mosquito traps , a pesticide-free, scientifically proven method of reducing mosquito populations. We offer trap sales, professional installation, monthly CO₂ tank delivery, and full-service trap rentals, all serviced by our all-electric EV fleet.
Mosquitoes locate their hosts by detecting carbon dioxide , the same gas humans exhale when breathing. Our CO₂ traps release a precise stream of CO₂ (along with optional scent attractants) to mimic a living host and draw mosquitoes in from up to 100 feet away.
Once attracted, mosquitoes are captured by a gentle fan airflow and contained in a catch net. No zapping, no chemicals , just targeted, continuous elimination at the source. Over 2–4 weeks, the local mosquito population collapses as breeding females are removed from the cycle before they can reproduce.
Traditional sprays coat your yard with neurotoxic pesticides that kill indiscriminately , harming bees, pollinators, and soil ecosystems. Bug zappers attract insects with UV light, which mosquitoes respond to weakly , they primarily catch harmless moths and beetles.
CO₂ trapping uses the primary signal mosquitoes actually rely on to find hosts. It's highly specific to blood-seeking insects, operates continuously 24/7, and suppresses the breeding population rather than just repelling mosquitoes temporarily.
We currently provide CO₂ tank delivery, installation, maintenance, and rental services throughout the Austin, Texas metro area. This includes central Austin, Westlake Hills, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, and surrounding communities.

Proper placement is the single biggest factor in how well your trap performs. GreenGuard USA provides a detailed site assessment to identify where mosquitoes are breeding and resting on your property, and we place the trap for optimal coverage.
Improper placement , wrong height, wrong direction, too close to solid walls , can reduce efficacy by 50% or more. We strongly recommend professional installation for all new customers. See our Trap Placement Guide for more detail.

For the Mosqitter Grand, CO₂ usage varies by operating mode and can be adjusted via the app. Our monthly delivery service is calibrated to your specific setup so you never run dry.
Our CO₂ outdoor traps are designed for outdoor use only and are most effective when placed in shaded areas with good air circulation. They are not suitable for indoor use.
We do offer a separate indoor mosquito trap that does not use CO₂ , contact us at 512-560-4129 for details.
Yes, CO₂ tanks are available for purchase individually through our online shop. However, our monthly tank exchange delivery service is the most convenient option , we deliver a full tank and take away the empty on a set schedule, so your trap never stops running.

Yes. You can pause, modify, or cancel your CO₂ delivery subscription at any time. We just ask for at least 48 hours notice before your next scheduled delivery to avoid a missed service fee.
We operate month-to-month, no long-term contracts required. You stay because the service works, not because you're locked in.
We offer next-day emergency refills for customers who run dry between scheduled deliveries. The Mosqitter Grand app will also alert you when your CO₂ level is getting low, giving you advance notice to request a top-up.

Completely. Our traps use zero pesticides, chemicals, or sprays of any kind. There is no residue on your lawn, no drift into your garden, and no chemical exposure risk for children or animals. CO₂ traps work purely through physical capture, mosquitoes are drawn in and contained, nothing harmful is released.
No. CO₂ traps are highly specific to blood-seeking insects. Bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects do not respond to CO₂ and human scent lures, they are completely unaffected. This is one of the primary reasons we chose CO₂ trapping over conventional spray treatments.
Most customers notice a significant reduction in mosquito bites within 7–10 days of continuous operation. Within 2–4 weeks, the local breeding cycle begins to break as female mosquitoes are removed before they can reproduce.
For maximum results, continuous year-round operation combined with additional control measures, such as larvicidal treatment of standing water and removing breeding sites, can reduce mosquito populations by up to 95%.
For best results, run your trap continuously 24/7. CO₂ trapping works by suppressing the mosquito population over time, not instant kill. Turning the trap off for extended periods allows the population to recover and restarts the suppression cycle.
If you want to conserve CO₂, using a timer to turn off between 12am–6am (the lowest activity period) still provides excellent results while extending tank life from ~20 days to ~27 days.
Yes. Austin's warm climate means mosquitoes are active nearly year-round, often into November and December in central Austin neighborhoods. We recommend continuous operation from at least March through November, with reduced operation during cold snaps in winter.
Both the Biogents and Mosqitter Grand traps are built for continuous outdoor operation and handle Austin's heat and humidity without issue.
