How do CO₂ mosquito traps work?
Our CO₂ traps mimic human breath by releasing carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes. Once lured, the mosquitoes are captured inside the trap, preventing them from breeding and reducing overall mosquito populations over time.

Why is CO₂ effective for mosquito control?
Mosquitoes rely on CO₂ to locate their hosts. By using CO₂ traps, we disrupt their ability to find humans and pets, significantly lowering the risk of bites and mosquito-borne diseases.

What mosquito traps do you sell?
We offer the Biogents Mosquitaire CO₂ mosquito trap, which is scientifically proven to attract and capture mosquitoes more effectively than traditional bug zappers or sprays.

Do I need professional installation for the traps?
The traps are designed for easy setup, but proper placement is key. GreenGuard USA provides detailed site assessments to find where the mosquitoes are on your property, and come up with a strategy to reduce the population. Improper placement of traps and the lack of a site assessment will greatly reduce the efficacy of the traps.

How often do I need to refill my CO₂ tank?
A Biogents trap without a timer will use approximately ~1 pound per day of CO2 when running in the lowest recommended setting. That means that a 20 pound tank will last approximately 20 days.

A Biogents trap running with a timer off between 12am-6am will use approximately .75 pounds per day of CO2 when running in the lowest recommended setting. That means a 20 pound tank will last approximately ~27 days.

Can I buy CO₂ tanks separately?
Yes, we sell CO₂ tanks individually.

Subscription & Delivery

How does the CO₂ refill delivery service work?
We offer a CO₂ tank exchange service. You’ll receive a full tank delivered to your property where a GreenGuard USA technician will disconnect the old tank, connect the new tank to the regulator, clean out and inspect the trap, and adjust the regulator, and pick up the empty tank. This full service approach ensures continuous mosquito protection without any hassle.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can pause, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time. Just contact us at least 48 hours before your next scheduled delivery.

Do I need to be home for deliveries?
No, as long as your trap and empty CO₂ tank are accessible, we can swap it out without requiring you to be present.

Effectiveness & Safety

Are CO₂ traps safe for pets and children?
Yes! Our CO₂ traps do not use harmful pesticides or chemicals, making them safe for kids, pets, and the environment.

Will CO₂ traps harm pollinators like bees and butterflies?
No, our traps are specifically designed to attract and capture mosquitoes, not beneficial insects like bees or butterflies.

How long does it take to see results?
Most customers notice a significant reduction in mosquito populations within 2–4 weeks of continuous trap operation. Continous operation throughout the year, along with other control measures like larvacidal treatment and stagnant water removal can reduce mosquito populations up to 95%.

Can I use the traps indoors?
No, our CO₂ traps are designed for outdoor use only. They are most effective when placed in shady areas with minimal wind. We do offer an indoor version that does not use CO2.
